Fix Nissan Sentra Cabin Air Filter

Your 2005 Nissan Sentra, whether it has the 1.8L or 2.5L engine, comes with a cabin-air filter. Nissan refers to this filter as an in-cabin microfilter. It prevents dust, pollen, spores and other debris from coming inside your Sentra. Ideally, the filter should be replaced every 20,000-miles, but you may want to replace it more often if you live in a dusty area. You can purchase a replacement cabin-air filter for your Sentra from a Nissan dealer. You can also purchase one online, or from an auto-parts store. Specify your engine size when ordering a replacement filter.

Locate the trim panel directly to the right of the accelerator pedal.

Remove the lid from the housing unit by unscrewing the screws with a screwdriver, then lifting it off.

Inspect the top part of the glove box frame to find four Phillips-head screws. The two center screws mount the glove box latch. Remove the outside screws first, and then remove the center screws. Pull the latch off by pulling it downward. Pull the frame toward you to remove it.

Remove the four screws around the perimeter of the glove compartment frame.
