The 2000 Nissan Sentra is equipped with a cabin air filter that prevents dust & allergens from entering the passenger compartment. Nissan recommends replacing the cabin filter every 15,000 miles or one time every year. If the Sentra is often driven in areas with heavy air pollution, such as thick traffic or dirt roads, the filter may need to get replaced more often. A neat cabin air filter improves air circulation in the air conditioning process & keeps the air inside the vehicle cleaner.
Turn the Sentra off. Keep the automobile off while working on the air filter to protect yourself from feasible engine backfires.
Push the tabs on the bottom part of the filter cover outward (these are labelled "Push"). Pull the filter cover off, & then pull out the elderly cabin-air filter.
Slide the new filter in to the filter compartment.
Push the filter cover until it snaps on. Reattach the glove box frame; tighten the screws. Then set the latch in place & tighten its screws. Raise the glove box door & reinsert the hinge pins to secure it.
